About The Position

The purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Maintenance Department in accordance with current local, state and federal standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the Administrator to assure that this hospital is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct the Maintenance Department Conduct regular rounds of the facility to check all maintenance zones to assure the quality control and safety, health and welfare of residents, employees, families, visitors in the facility, and correct or report equipment failure or damage to the Administrator immediately Check air conditioning and heating units on roof and in resident’s rooms, office, and other rooms in the hospital Check pump station and breaker panels, washers, and dryers in laundry Make daily repairs as needed Check water and boiler temperature, dietary cooking equipment, cooling equipment, public address system, fire extinguishers and alarms, fire doors, and electrical outlets Interpret the Department’s policies and procedures to employees, residents, visitors, and government agencies Complete forms, reports, evaluations and studies to assure control of equipment and supplies Submit accident and incident reports Review and develop a plan of correction for maintenance deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of that plan to Administration Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator

Requirements

  • Communication skills and active listening
  • One (1) year experience in a maintenance/plant supervisory position
  • Technical degree in maintenance field, to include electrical, mechanical, general construction
  • Position may require unscheduled overtime, week-end work
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours

  • Moderate to heavy physical effort; lifting up to sixty-five (65) pounds is required

Responsibilities
