About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all manufacturing equipment within SnackCraft. This role ensures that machinery operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. Work Environment: Office & Production Floor Physical Demands: Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, typically up to 50 pounds, and occasionally heavier items with assistance. Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the facility. Bending and Stooping: Frequent bending, stooping, and crouching to access equipment and perform maintenance tasks. Climbing: Climbing ladders and stairs to reach elevated areas and equipment. Manual Dexterity: Fine motor skills for handling tools, parts, and equipment with precision. Reaching: Reaching overhead and at various heights to perform maintenance tasks. Pushing and Pulling: Pushing and pulling carts, tools, and equipment. Kneeling and Crawling: Kneeling and crawling to access hard-to-reach areas and perform repairs. Visual Acuity: Good vision to read technical manuals, schematics, and to inspect equipment. Hearing: Ability to hear alarms, machinery sounds, and communicate effectively in a noisy environment. Balance and Coordination: Maintaining balance and coordination while working on ladders, scaffolding, or in confined spaces.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, maintenance management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing preferably a GMP-related facility in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role, with a proven track record of supervising maintenance teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with equipment installation.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards.
  • May require work at heights.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical Journeyman License is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Maintenance Team: Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment runs smoothly and efficiently. Efficiently prioritizes the maintenance and repair of company equipment.
  • Equipment Repairs: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment.
  • Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of machinery and systems to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including repairs and inspections.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring availability for timely repairs.
  • Efficiency Improvements: Recommend and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Ensures proper operation of equipment, lighting, and sounds systems with minimal downtime.
  • Monitors and evaluates equipment performance and adjusts for maximum efficiencies and throughput as needed.
  • Maintains, documents, and administers preventative maintenance procedures and logs.
  • Ensures that maintenance staff are continually on the production floor assisting, training, and making repairs as needed or directed by the Shift Managers
  • Evaluate and implement necessary and proper training for maintenance employees.
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, and training activities for new technicians and maintenance employees
  • Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controls.
  • Manages the facilities and grounds needs as necessary or directed by the Owner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
