About The Position

Chatham County Public Works has an immediate opening for Maintenance Supervisor. If you meet the minimum qualifications, we encourage you to apply. Reporting to the Superintendent, Supervise multiple work crews performing inspection, construction, maintenance, or drainage work, primarily in Road Maintenance and Stormwater operations. Assign work and assist the Superintendent in monitoring work progress. Provide guidance, instruction, and training to crew members. Make minor repairs and participate in the daily work with your crew. Respond to inquiries from the public in a professional and timely manner. Work as part of the Critical Workforce and will respond to emergency situations as needed. Must be able to work nights and weekends and be on call on a 24- hour basis. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, and
• At least three (3) years of experience in Road Maintenance, Stormwater operations, and/or maintenance work, including supervisory experience, survey experience, and experience operating medium and heavy equipment; or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver's License at the time of application.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Georgia Pesticide License with Right of Way and Aquatic Application within six (6) months of employment.
• Must provide and wear approved steel toe protective footwear during regular working hours.
