About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing maintenance operations during an assigned shift. This includes leading and training maintenance staff, coordinating equipment upkeep with production, and ensuring compliance with safety, USDA, and operational standards. The role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills, including task delegation and performance coaching.
  • Advanced mechanical troubleshooting and repair capabilities across a wide range of industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms and digital maintenance tracking systems.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools and diagnostic instruments.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certification in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or USDA-regulated environments is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of maintenance technicians across all shifts.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed, and work areas meet the highest safety standards.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of production equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks with minimal disruption.
  • Monitor equipment performance and initiate corrective actions to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implements long-term solutions.
  • Maintain and update CMMS records, ensuring accurate documentation of work orders and maintenance logs.
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff on procedures, safety, troubleshooting, and equipment operation.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and emergency response drills.
  • Support capital projects and equipment installations in collaboration with engineering and operations.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of critical components.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and maintenance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, FSQ, and internal safety and sanitation standards.
  • Review and approve work orders, ensuring proper prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated maintenance issues during assigned shifts.
