About The Position

Support the maintenance department by overseeing and directing work orders, projects and personnel. Responsible for prioritizing & rescheduling workload if unexpected events occur. Overall responsibility for repairs and maintenance of the plant's assets. Must comply and support all applicable GMPs, Site Security, and Food Packaging Defense requirements that are referenced in the facilities GFSI food packaging safety program. Responsibility for the welfare and management of maintenance personnel. Manage daily permits, inductions, RAMS. Set the priorities from the Maintenance Management System outstanding list in coordination with the Engineering Planner & department supervisors, organizing dispatching and delegating the work to the maintenance technicians. Follow up to ensure work was completed at a high standard. Effective decision making with respect to the cost of repairs. Strive to find better and more efficient ways of repairing and maintaining machinery. Ensure that we follow the requirements of the PACE requirements. Actively engage with the operations team to develop a team approach to effective maintenance. Coach, mentor, develop and set goals for our techs to realize their full potential. Stand in for the Maintenance manager or planner when they are on vacation. Observational cards or any other site-specific tool to help to shape the Health and Safety behavior on our site, 4 stops cards per month are to be completed and handed to the Health and Safety Manager. Provide weekend coverage as appropriate to the site schedule. Assist the storeroom specialist with P/O processing by approving parts requests from Techs. Ensure parts being requested are necessary.
