About The Position

Marshall Health Network is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor – Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) to oversee the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our hospital’s physical plant systems. This position is responsible for managing all MEP systems, including fire and life safety equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and leading a skilled team of trades professionals. The MEP Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining hospital operations through effective supervision, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement of critical systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, and emergency power generation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Master’s License in one of the following trades required: Electrical, HVAC, or Plumbing.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in hospital maintenance or facilities operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement and regulatory standards.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Professional judgment, discretion, and diplomacy in handling sensitive matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and a mid-sized workforce.
  • Respectful and inclusive leadership approach.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and at heights.
  • Must maintain professionalism and composure under stressful conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee preventive maintenance, inspection, and testing of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of equipment and parts.
  • Schedule, supervise, and prioritize MEP work for employees and contractors.
  • Recommend equipment replacements and assist with annual maintenance and capital budgets.
  • Supervise and evaluate skilled trades employees, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Train staff in trade-specific skills, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and document inspections for medical gas, HVAC, domestic water, fire alarms, sprinklers, boilers, and emergency generators.
  • Ensure compliance with all Fire and Life Safety requirements and documentation standards.
  • Enforce safety policies to protect staff and patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.
