About The Position

The Maintenance Staff is responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of equipment and facilities at the New Albany production plant. This hands-on leadership role ensures all machinery and systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Summit Seed Coatings’ operational and safety standards. The Maintenance Staff works closely with plant leadership to minimize downtime, implement preventative maintenance programs, support capital planning initiatives, and maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and directing maintenance personnel and subcontractors.
  • Experience tracking maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining safety standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members, vendors, and plant leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and production disruptions.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and operational equipment as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, inspections, and repairs.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify safety concerns and ensure timely corrective actions in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for parts, equipment, and services, ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement.
  • Manage and oversee subcontractors as needed to support maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership on capital planning initiatives, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.
  • Support and promote a safety-first culture by enforcing policies, modeling safe work practices, and addressing hazards proactively.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and environmentally responsible facility aligned with Summit Seed Coatings’ standards.
