About The Position

Maintenance Specialist maintains a comfortable, safe and secure environment for the residents, their families, visitors and partners. Performs a variety of general maintenance tasks, including general repairs, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc. Assists with moving of residents’ furnishings as needed. Paints residents' living quarters as needed. Assists with the on-going preventative maintenance program of cleaning, repairing and operating equipment, which minimizes abnormal equipment failure. Assists with grounds keeping, weeding, mulching, and snow-removal.

Requirements

• Skilled in using a variety of power tools and equipment
• Knowledge and ability to maintain lawn care equipment and be able to safely operate it if assigned
• Strong organizational skills to effectively facilitate the timely completion of repair requests
• Basic Computer skills are helpful
• Be respectful of residents when communicating with them
• Demonstrate the ability and willingness to be a leader and work respectfully with other personnel
• Must be able to interact respectfully with residents, family members, staff, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
• Must have strong attendance and work performance history
• High level of organizational skills and be flexible on the job
• Must be able to work on roofs and ladders
• Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with all personnel
• Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
• Must have patience, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm handling difficult situations
• Follow a good sense of hygiene
