As a Maintenance Specialist, you will be able to contribute to shape the future of the Roche Diagnostics Operations by maintaining the best performance of our electro-mechanical equipment used in the Facilities/Utilities organization. The Opportunity: You're performing electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electromechanical equipment, HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, and chilled water systems used in Facilities/Utilities. Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or drawings. You're using test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts & rebuild facilities/utilities equipment as required and perform equipment modifications including installation, validation support and start-up of new equipment, as well as decommissioning activities as directed by manufacturing engineers You're using test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts & rebuild facilities/utilities equipment as required and perform equipment modifications including installation, validation support and start-up of new equipment, as well as decommissioning activities as directed by manufacturing engineers You're using maintenance technologies and techniques in order to improve operational efficiencies and apply advanced knowledge and skills to complete assignments requiring judgment and initiative. You will understand the implications of work and make recommendations for solutions. You will receive little instruction on daily assignments and may determine methods and procedures on new assignments. You're responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions. You're completing preventative maintenance tasks according to detailed procedures and schedules. You will provide emergency call-in support for operations that run during off- hours and weekends. Maintains accurate records of all activities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 2+ years related operations or manufacturing experience

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or equivalent military training or documented 3 years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing the following types of systems: HVAC, Ammonia refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic in an operations or manufacturing setting
  • Proficient in Google Office Suite: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Email, Calendar
  • Knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical and controls troubleshooting
  • Experience with Precision Maintenance practices; GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GDP (Good Documentation Practices)
  • Experience with HVAC systems (rooftop units, air handling units, VAVs, fan coil units, electric and gas heaters); chilled water systems (ammonia screw chillers, ammonia and pumps); boilers and hot water systems (gas and electric boilers); refrigeration (stand-alone refrigerator/freezers, walk in coolers and freezers, CO2 refrigeration, and ammonia refrigeration)
  • Experience with Building Automation systems
