Overview Provides maintenance and/or repairs to the Agency buildings and grounds, as well as to the organization's equipment. Must be able to perform with limited supervision, accept responsibilities, initiate problem solving and/or decision – making related to specialized trade work. Responsibilities Primary duties and resaponsibilities include but not limited to: Responsible for the care and upkeep of the agency buildings, houses, properties and equipment; identify, monitor and log capital improvement projects; act as responsible person if assigned to a location or task; must do advance planning and take projects from the design stage straight through to completion; work with administration on producing and submitting funding documentation Evaluate work flow to ensure efficiency; project management to include managing vendors and agency manpower, construction management to include designing, planning, reviewing blueprint, estimating, report writing and cost analysis; monitors projects to assure completion of assignments and quality of work; recognizes and reports problems. Initiate and carry out any permits, reports or documents required by the town or any office having jurisdiction over code compliance. This position requires regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with people receiving services and, therefore, is subject to successful completion of fingerprint/criminal background check. Ensure that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff. Observance of an unsafe act or a potentially hazardous work environment must be immediately reported to supervisor and/or safety committee.
