About The Position

Plant Electrician position that includes up to a $1500 quarterly bonus and an improved pay scale The Plant Electrician is responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to safely providing maintenance support to our fast-paced Council Bluffs, IA plant. Utilize both excellent electrical/electronic skills and knowledge (PLCs, AC, DC motors and drives, schematics) and mechanical skills and knowledge (pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmission, lubrication) in our manufacturing environment. Work positively with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. College or trade school preferred.
  • Experience Required: A minimum of 6 months experience in an industrial maintenance environment and/or equivalent military experience.

  • PLC certification preferred and/or journeyman license.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting Lean Initiatives such as Set-Up Reductions and TPM.
  • Drive Productivity Improvements (Cycle Time Reduction) in Assigned Departments by Optimizing Programming, Tooling, and Fixturing.
  • Develop and load part programs into controller using any of the below methods: Keyboard; Computer, IE Manufacturing.
  • Ability to program variety of machines and controls such as: Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley, GE
  • Ability to make machine setups.
  • Assist with New Equipment Opportunities and Installations.
  • Install, maintain, and operate all plant electrical (e.g., switch gear, high/low voltage, drives, parts, etc.)
  • Set-up all electronic equipment for scheduled production runs
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all electronic equipment (e.g., wiring, scales, metal detectors, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and program PLC’s including wiring
  • Conduct daily/weekly PM’s
  • Maintain plant lighting
  • Troubleshoot and program CIP
  • Fabricate custom electronic parts
  • Implement safety devices on production lines
  • Complete required reports (e.g., PM, Work Orders, Centerline, etc.)
  • May perform other duties as assigned
