About The Position

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region Highways & Aviation is looking for a Maintenance Specialist, Electrician, Journey 2/Lead in Soldotna to help us Keep Alaska Moving! The main purpose of this position will be to maintain and inspect State of Alaska Department of Transportation owned electrical infrastructure and contribute to overall operational mission regarding maintaining safe roadways, airports, and pedestrian/bike routes. This includes maintaining, installing, and repairing various electrical components (traffic signals, airfield lighting, etc). DOT&PF's mission is to "Keep Alaska Moving". As part of the Maintenance and Operations team, the ideal candidate will affect Alaskan's life on a daily basis as all goods and services require the use of some form of the State's transportation system to be delivered. The Soldotna shop is made up of 9 operators who work cooperatively to operate and maintain State highways and roads. We are the "moving" in the DOT&PF mission to "Keep Alaska Moving!". Requirements

  • State of Alaska Journeyman Electrician License
  • Statues of Alaska Certification of Fitness
  • Valid Alaska Driver`s License
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment, components, instruments, and systems, including their design, installation, testing, uses, repair, or maintenance.

Responsibilities
