The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Maintenance Specialist, Building/Facility/Construction, Journey 2/Lead, for the Goose Creek Correctional Center, located in Mackenzie Point, Alaska. Watch Alaska DOC's video here: Facilities 30 Second Cut What you will be doing: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Specialist Foreman at GCCC, the primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Conduct routine and non-routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on all HVAC equipment, ventilation system, refrigeration, air conditioners, chillers, freezers, coolers, and heat pumps located in or around GCCC. Install, maintain, service and repair equipment such as electric motors, heaters, coolers, refrigerators, freezers, compressors, water heaters and plumbing facilities using hand and power tools of the maintenance trade. Advise supervisor for ordering purposes when parts are needed; assure parts are readily available when needed.
