About The Position

This position is responsible for overall Maintenance Work Order management including accurately entering Work Orders into and closing out Work Orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System, scheduling Preventative Maintenance tasks, coordinating and requisitioning parts needed for Preventative Maintenance and putting those parts in kits so Maintenance Technicians can more efficiently perform Preventative Maintenance work. The position is also responsible for developing and writing Preventative Maintenance tasks, adjusting schedules to drive continuous improvement. Working with plant project teams to ensure we have quality PMs for new equipment.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • Candidate must have 2-7 years of related experience (Maintenance tech, Planner, parts coordinator etc.)
  • Must be able to fluently read, write and speak English.
  • Must be a strong communicator, as this role will be negotiating downtime for preventive work and explaining scope of work to maintenance technicians.
  • Strong organizational skills as this role will have to manage backlogs, KPIs to report out, meetings and weekend/shutdown schedule.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, as this role will be resolving resource conflicts and adapting to emergency equipment failures, and other urgent needs on the Plant
  • Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Planner must be able to solve problems quickly and with good judgment.
  • Ability to use computers including email, Microsoft Office Suite, and the company’s computerized maintenance management system.
  • The employee must regularly lift, push, pull and move up to 50 lbs.
  • The employee must be able to bend, squat and crawl while loading and unloading Company vehicles.
  • The employee must be able to walk through the refrigerated Plant, which ranges from Zero degrees Fahrenheit to 55 Degrees Fahrenheit, in production areas and in the Ammonia Room, and other maintenance-related areas, as needed including being able to ascend and descend stairs.
  • The employee must also be able to walk around the Maintenance Warehouse which ranges from 30 degrees Fahrenheit to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Six Sigma/Lean: Certifications in process improvement or similar are appreciated

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety rules and practices.
  • Schedule and plan all Preventative Maintenance work and normal work orders.
  • Accurately schedule and assign Work Orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Report on weekly and monthly KPIs to leadership
  • Schedule parts orders and coordinate kit assembly of parts/materials/equipment used for Preventative Maintenance, work orders, and projects.
  • Resolve problems with assigned maintenance parts/materials, and equipment orders.
  • Work in conjunction with maintenance team to control inventory of assigned maintenance parts and materials in accordance with management objectives.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures for Preventative Maintenance work and work orders
  • Act as Contractor liaison; scheduling, communicating, and managing contractor workload
  • Other duties as assigned.
