About The Position

Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician supports daily production by maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to keep the plant running safely and efficiently. The role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic issues, and responds to unplanned downtime while coordinating repairs around production schedules. This position also supports industrial robotic production cells (ABB robots/IRC5 preferred), including safe fault recovery and basic troubleshooting using a teach pendant. This role is located at our Steel - Lakeland, FL facility. Hourly Rate: $26.50 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance and repairs. Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including welding machines, metal fabricating equipment, overhead cranes, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems. Control equipment downtime by conducting PM inspections and repairs outside of peak production hours. Experience coordinating repairs with outside contractors and vendors when necessary. Provide facility maintenance and repairs as needed. Complete PM inspections of equipment, facility and safety as indicated. Track repairs, including cause, down time, and repair time. Education: Completion of technical/vocation industrial maintenance program or related field. Minimum 2+ years related maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Prior welding experience is a plus. Experience working with Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs and scheduled maintenance systems is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills is required. Strong computer skills is recommended Work Experience Requirements: Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical and hydraulic diagrams and equipment specifications. Proficient with hand and power tools, metal working tools and welding equipment. Basic experience working around industrial robotic systems (ABB robots with IRC5 controllers preferred). Ability to safely jog a robot using the teach pendant in manual mode for troubleshooting or recovery. Ability to assist with fault recovery and support basic troubleshooting within robotic production cells. Physical and Work Environment Requirements: Position always requires standing / walking. Position requires lifting 10-50 lbs. on occasion and 10 lbs. or less frequently. Position will have occasional exposure to fumes, smoke, noise, vibration, dust, grease, oil, or dirt. Position requires frequent use of hand tools.
