Location: South Sioux City, NE Workplace type: Onsite The Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Manager plays a critical role in maximizing equipment performance and plant productivity by leading strategic maintenance planning, reliability initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration. This leader drives standardization, operational excellence, and safety-forward practices to ensure assets consistently perform at their highest level. As a Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Manager, you will oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and reliability engineering to ensure the plant’s assets operate safely, efficiently, and at peak performance. This role drives standardized maintenance processes, optimizes resources, and leads teams to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support continuous operational improvement. This role report to the Maintenance and Reliability Manager and oversees a team of 3 individual contributors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or reliability management, ideally within an industrial or food-processing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP, including SAP Material Management (MM) and SAP-Preventive Maintenance (PM), with experience in implementation and daily system management.
  • Strong knowledge of RCM, FMEA, root cause analysis tools, KPI management, and maintenance planning/control methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment used in industrial machinery and process environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team-development skills, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities, manage pressure, and foster a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance planning and scheduling to ensure timely, efficient execution of maintenance activities while minimizing production downtime.
  • Implement and manage the plant’s reliability program using RCM, failure analysis, and predictive tools to improve equipment performance and extend asset life.
  • Oversee maintenance cost management, spare parts/warehouse operations, and resource optimization to drive efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Supervise and develop the maintenance team, ensuring strong safety practices, regulatory compliance, and effective performance management.
  • Lead major shutdown planning and high‑risk maintenance processes, ensuring standardized procedures and alignment with regional stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage key maintenance and reliability KPIs, driving continuous improvement through root cause analysis and gap‑closure plans.
  • Collaborate with procurement to manage third‑party service providers and develop strong supplier partnerships.
