About The Position

At Lineage, the world’s largest temperature-controlled logistics company, you will play a critical role as a Maintenance Planner, serving as the key connection between operations and maintenance. In this role, you will use our CMMS system to plan and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance that keeps equipment running at peak performance. By driving reliability, efficiency, and safety, your expertise will directly reduce downtime, boost productivity, and ensure smooth operations across the facility.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or industrial maintenance (warehouse, manufacturing, or processing environment preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of maintenance processes and CMMS systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, including work orders, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) with solid math and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking ability; able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Understanding safety, electrical, fire protection, and regulatory standards.
  • Comfortable working in cold storage environments (as low as -20°F) and around moving mechanical equipment with PPE provided.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between maintenance, operations, and planning teams to ensure timely and professional service.
  • Review and validate work requests, defining job scope, priority, labor, and material needs.
  • Develop job plans, estimates, and schedules 2–4 weeks in advance to reduce unplanned downtime and optimize labor efficiency.
  • Identify, secure, and manage spare parts, ensuring proper inventory control and critical spare availability.
  • Create and issue job packets with work instructions, safety guidelines, and parts lists.
  • Utilize CMMS to track work order status from submission through completion; maintain backlog visibility and accuracy.
  • Lead planning and scheduling meetings, aligning with operations on downtime windows, resource allocation, and job sequencing.
  • Monitor performance metrics (PM compliance, backlog relief, schedule accuracy, labor effectiveness) and report results to leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement by refining job plans, incorporating technician feedback, and ensuring safety is prioritized in all tasks.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance, including PSM/RMP documentation for ammonia and environmental systems.
