About The Position

The Peace Village Senior Maintenance Painter position needs to maintain the appearance and condition of all interior and exterior painted surfaces across the campus. This role is critical to preserving the quality, safety, and visual standards of resident apartments, common areas, models, and facility spaces.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional painting experience.
  • Proven experience operating mechanical and construction equipment.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment such as drills, saws, plumbing tools, carpentry equipment, gardening tools, snow removal equipment, electric and HVAC equipment, and plumbing rodders.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong understanding of advanced painting and surface preparation
  • Hands-On Repair Skills: Attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication, proactive updates, documentation, and responsiveness.
  • Organizational Skills: Efficient in managing work orders and maintenance schedules to maintain completion rates and timeframes.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Positive orientation toward team projects and support of all departments of Peace Village.
  • Time Management: Skilled in prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality interior and exterior painting, including patching, wall repairs, and touch-ups throughout the campus.
  • Prepare surfaces by sanding, scraping, smoothing, and removing old paint to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality.
  • Repair walls using plaster, drywall compound, caulk, or other fillers to correct cracks, holes, and surface imperfections.
  • Remove and reinstall fixtures, wall plates, and coverings as needed prior to painting.
  • Protect floors, furniture, baseboards, windows, and fixtures using drop cloths, masking tape, and appropriate coverings.
  • Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment to achieve a professional-grade finish.
  • Safely use ladders and perform work above ground level in accordance with safety standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Maintain clean and safe workspaces, disposing of waste and hazardous materials in accordance with facility policies and regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by interacting respectfully and professionally with residents, families, visitors, and staff in alignment with the mission of Peace Village.
  • Accurately document work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any follow-up needs, for maintenance logs and compliance purposes.
  • Collaborate with and provide assistance to other maintenance team members as assigned to support departmental goals.
