About The Position

This is a position for an experienced Maintenance Painter in the Facilities Management department. The work focuses on painting and the caregiver may be assigned to work in a variety of areas of focus. A Maintenance Painter II is expected to assist in other facilities-related work as needed and assigned. Essential Functions Responsible for maintaining the appearance and condition of the hospital's interior and exterior surfaces. Assignments may include painting walls, ceilings, doors, and other surfaces as needed. Must be able to prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, scraping, and cleaning, as well as mix and apply paint according to specifications. Implements and adheres to all infection prevention and life safety concerns associated with the work. Maintains all painting tools and equipment in good operating order. Demonstrates a level of competency to perform work on routine to moderately complex systems. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to repair and paint all types of paintable surfaces found in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with wall protection systems, wallpaper, and other protective assemblies.
  • Mastery of the use of epoxy and other multi-part coating systems.
  • Willingness to work hard and to learn.
  • A valid drivers license may be required for this position.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability related to maintenance painting.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with all infection prevention and life safety considerations associated with maintenance painting in a healthcare setting.
  • While this is not a “production” painting role, the Maintenance Painter II must be able to work quickly and efficiently within the demands of a healthcare setting.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
  • Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.
  • Use of hand and power tools, proper use of hearing and eye protection.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures in nature, work in noisy or constricted spaces, exposure to odors and smells.

Responsibilities
