About The Position

This position will require access to ITAR and/or EAR controlled technical data, technology or source code, and requires that all individuals in this role be authorized to access such information General Description: The Maintenance Operator is an hourly position reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Operator is responsible for providing manufacturing support and performs routine maintenance duties including rough carpentry, painting and basic equipment or facility repairs. This position requires an individual with general maintenance and plumbing knowledge. The Maintenance Operator works with supervision from Maintenance Supervisor or other Maintenance Mechanics. Dependability and attention to detail are required characteristics. The maintenance work environment involves the handling of hazardous chemicals. The ability to use a personal respirator is required. The physical demands of this position may involve standing for extended periods as well as frequent lifting of items weighing up to 55 lbs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Requires a minimum of 6 months experience in general maintenance, such as plumbing and general mechanics
The ability to read simple instructions and follow simple diagrams
Be or become certified in Forklift, Reach Lift, and Scissor lift
Utilize tablet and CMMS
The ability to use a personal respirator is required

Responsibilities

Achieve daily and specific goals
Provide maintenance support to other departments
Provide cleaning services to the entire R.E. Darling facility as assigned
Repair and upkeep of facilities equipment
Practice safe and efficient work habits
Complete daily tasks on time
Perform tasks independently after being given specific instructions
Clean offices & common areas to include: Empty trash Vacuum carpets Mop tile floors Clean grout as necessary Dust Wash marks from walls as necessary Clean windows as required
Clean restrooms Mop floors Clean Grout Clean toilets, urinals and sinks Clean mirrors Wash marks from walls as necessary Fill all paper and soap dispensers
Clean drinking fountains
Clean glass doors
Reports the need for any facilities repairs to the department supervisor
Work in maintenance department as required
Work with maintenance mechanics in the performance of minor repair work of production or facilities equipment
Minor repair and upkeep of facilities equipment Boiler blowdown Cooling tower maintenance Painting Cleaning Cooler service and minor repair Minor roof repairs Grounds work as required Minor plumbing repair of restroom fixtures
Follow all REDAR rules and policies
Be dependable and honest with good work ethics
