About The Position

Assists in maintaining plant production by making repairs within scope of expertise. Interprets and follows through on work orders following various safe work procedures. Makes mechanical repairs on plant equipment and performs preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis. Learns to identify equipment malfunctions and repair before catastrophic failure. Begins to develop expertise in a specialized skill. Operates medium sized heavy equipment (e.g. Bobcat, manlift, forklift, trencher, etc.). Works outdoors year round in all types of weather conditions. Becomes aware of all safety hazards and follow all safety policies and procedures. Maintains department records. · General consultative supervision, toward predetermined goals and objectives · Requires expertise in problem recognition and specialized technical skills to develop solutions and action steps to a wide variety of difficult work assignments · Requires some personal initiative and occasional ingenuity, planning or organizing of work · Advanced office or technical skills, acquired through a combination of prior training and directly related experience · Interacts with peers, supervisor, and internal / external customers · (Field and Mfg) May provide advice to lower level team members on medium to large projects · Sound decision making and problem solving skills · Consequences of errors are easily measured and can be confined · (Field and Mfg) Advanced mechanical aptitude, including advanced experience with general hand tools and precision measuring equipment · May work on special projects with peers from other work groups · Ability to read and interpret routine instructions · (Field) Uses drilling experience plus product knowledge to maximize equipment performance · Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations · (Mfg) Sets up, monitors and operates various pieces of equipment associated with the manufacturing facility requirements · (Mfg) May operate multiple machines simultaneously · (Mfg) May perform quality assurance activities as required by manufacturing/engineering specifications and ISO requirements You will be eligible to participate in Company-sponsored benefit programs, including health & welfare programs and the Thrift Plan (401k).
