Assists in maintaining plant production by making repairs within scope of expertise. Interprets and follows through on work orders following various safe work procedures. Makes mechanical repairs on plant equipment and performs preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis. Learns to identify equipment malfunctions and repair before catastrophic failure. Begins to develop expertise in a specialized skill. Operates medium sized heavy equipment (e.g. Bobcat, manlift, forklift, trencher, etc.). Works outdoors year round in all types of weather conditions. Becomes aware of all safety hazards and follow all safety policies and procedures.
