Maintenance Operations Specialist, Short-Term
About The Position
Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is seeking a full-time Maintenance Ops Specialist who performs maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to enable proper operation of buildings, utilities, equipment, and facilities. This is a customer-service oriented position and requires timely and courteous service. Completes work orders and requests: painting, drywall repair, masonry, plumbing including carpentry and equipment and furniture repairs. This Maintenance Ops Specialist is also responsible for setting up equipment/furniture for events. This is a short-term assignment with a projected end date of 06-30-2026 with renewal based on available funds and the needs of MCCCD.
Responsibilities
- Monitors, maintains and performs minor repairs for mechanical, carpentry, locks, plumbing, electrical, life safety and energy management system issues
- Investigates and obtains trades services if necessary
- Coordinates and oversees work performed by external vendors
- Performs preventative maintenance on cooling, water, heat, air, drainage and other infrastructure systems
- Performs minor repairs and remodeling
- Receives daily work orders through the department's electronic work order system and makes appropriate entries, changing work order statuses as projects progress
- Maintains and tracks a supply of parts and other materials to successfully perform assigned tasks
- Responds to work order requests and/or emergency calls
- Adheres to applicable policies and procedures
- Keeps assigned tools and/or equipment in clean and safe working conditions
- Performs other duties as assigned including event set up
