About The Position

The intern will collaborate with team members to provide engineering support on Maintenance and Modification projects.

Requirements

  • Major(s): Mechanical Engineering.
  • Year in school: completed at least 1 year at an accredited college/university
  • Specific course work: Statics, Strength of Materials, AutoCad, SolidWorks or other 3D modeling.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Min GPA of 2.5

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers to accomplish assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Repair of freight cars through structural modifications and replacement of railcar components
  • Conversion of freight cars from one service to another.
  • Creation of supplemental documents for maintenance instructions and modifications.
  • Review data related to maintenance on our railcars
  • Review repair process to identify discrete steps and estimate time required to complete the repair
