About The Position

Maintenance Millwright (Glycols) – Decatur, IL This is an hourly, full-time position. Shift: 6:00am-4:00pm, 4 - 10-hour shifts Will rotate each month, for example Mon-Thurs, Tues-Fri, etc.. Job Summary: The Maintenance millwright position will provide plant support to maintain and repair equipment for the facility. The scope of work includes planned, preventative, unplanned, and reactive maintenance. This role reports to the Glycols Maintenance Superintendent. The Glycols plant produces USP & Industrial grades of renewable sourced propylene glycol, glycerin, and co-products utilizing various production processes and operational functions including material handling, reactors, distillation, and other separations

Requirements

  • Exhibit regular and prompt attendance
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, and/or a strong mechanical background to include a minimum of 3-5 years of hands on maintenance and/or millwright experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school training as mechanic or equivalent preferred
  • The position requires someone who is willing to learn through on-the-job training and/or outside training
  • Willing and able to take formal trade school courses as selected by ADM management and take such courses on a continuing basis during the training period
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Prepared to perform all tasks in safe manner
  • Read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions and SOP’s
  • Willing to work unscheduled call-in needs or overtime as needed
  • Demonstrate initiative to work independently while flexible enough to work in team setting when needed
  • Exhibit a professional image at all times; maintain a positive and respectful attitude
  • Able to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 55 pounds overhead
  • Able to traverse up to two (2) miles during the course of a work day and to move about or to a work site by stooping, bending, kneeling or squatting frequently during the course of a work day
  • May require periods of prolonged sitting or standing
  • Able to operate equipment or diagnose/detect issues of machinery that may be located at different heights, at times requiring work on ladders, scaffolding or other work at heights or in confined spaces
  • Requires a full range of physical motion in order to operate manual and electrically powered tools and electrical test equipment, to move throughout the facility, including climbing stairs in all buildings, and use of manlifts.
  • The scope of the position may require exposure to and use of chemicals, solvents, and cleaners common to mechanical work that may be hazardous and/or cause injury if specific instructions regarding their mixture, use, and disposal/storage are not properly followed
  • Have the ability to climb stairs, lift, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, work with heights, work in cold/hot temperatures and a dusty environment and be respirator qualified
  • Must be capable of being respirator certifiable and be willing to be respirator ready at all times. Maintenance techs must maintain clean shaved face to be able to don a respirator.
  • ADM requires the successful completion of a background check.

  • Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge and experience of reciprocating compressors a plus
