Shift Hours: 2:00pm to 10:30pm Monday to Friday Job Summary: This is an entry level maintenance mechanic position. Responsibilities include: Under supervision of higher-level mechanic, have the ability to learn proper troubleshooting and repairing of equipment associated in production in a timely manner as well as the maintenance of all building support equipment, including but not limited to air, water, steam, hydraulic, refrigeration, and electric systems.

Requirements

  • Must take in house mechanical aptitude test.
  • Basic math and reading skills;
  • Ability to work independently or in a group/team atmosphere;
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • High school or Trade School Diploma or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Properly troubleshoot and repair all equipment associated with in the production facility, in a timely manner with supervision
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all production, and warehouse equipment;
  • Properly perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, and plumbing duties as required;
  • Rebuild/replace equipment as needed, including but not limited to pumps, gear boxes, bearings, bushings, chains, bundler headers, conveyors, etc.
  • Complete assigned work orders by their required due dates;
  • Complete assigned housekeeping duties as required;
  • Communicate to Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager of any condition that prevents the manufacture of product to established standards;
  • Work in a safe manner, in compliance with Company, State and Federal GMP’s, SOP’s and company Policy and Procedures;
  • Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, and emergencies, as needed;
  • Possess own basic hand tools necessary to perform the requirements of the position;
  • Work effectively as part of a team and display a positive attitude;
  • Other duties assigned
  • Support SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner following prescribed procedures;
  • Report food safety problems to a supervisor or manager;
  • Maintain the preventative maintenance program.
