To support the Maintenance Department by performing simple, routine assignments and offer assistance in complex situations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience operating equipment within a manufacturing environment.
  • At least two (2) years of hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, setup, and adjustment of production or packaging machinery.
  • Proven ability to diagnose mechanical and process-related failures.
  • Proficiency in performing refrigeration and electrical system repairs.
  • Capability to identify inefficiencies within production lines and implement appropriate adjustments and repairs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or assistance.
  • Strong awareness of workplace hazards and sources of energy.
  • Commitment to adhering to governmental regulations, industry guidelines, and established food safety protocols.
  • To perform this job successfully, the Maintenance Mechanic must be self-motivated, able to problem solve, detail-oriented, and able to stay on task.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation and assist to limit downtime of equipment by performing inspections, documenting issues, creating parts lists and work-orders, and performing tasks to address and eliminate noted issues.
  • Diagnose and repair machine breakdowns in a timely, professional manner.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment that meets the requirements of our Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs.)
  • Generate parts requests for emergency repairs and inventory requirements.
  • Modify equipment as needed to result in better efficiency and to minimize breakdowns.
  • Perform machine set-up, change-over and adjustments as needed.
  • Practice lock out/tag out safety procedures and utilize PPE.
  • Documents work accurately, as required, to meet all policies and procedures.
  • Facilities maintenance repairs as necessary
  • Work independently, as well as part of a team, to complete necessary work in order to support production.
  • Assist on assigned projects as needed.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
  • Follow all GMP procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
