Job Summary This role will be responsible for assisting in preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of manufacturing equipment. This is a union role.

Requirements

  • High school, trade school; or at least two years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong electrical and mechanical experience, preferably in an industrial environment
  • Technical understanding and basic safety knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain plant production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; use precision measuring and testing instruments
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitor compliance
  • Conduct machine installs and repairs, maintenance and facilities repair, including electrical, mechanical, welding, fabrication of special parts as needed
