About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd shift to join our team located in Owatonna, Minnesota. In this role you will perform the more complex duties in the installation, maintenance and repair of company machinery, equipment, and facilities. Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am We Offer You! Work with engineering on the design and fabrication of new equipment and machines Will have an impact on the success of the company Growth Potential Collaborative and Team-Oriented environment What Success Looks Like: Diagnose and repair machinery and equipment as promptly as possible to minimize production downtime. Install new machinery, fixtures and necessary plumbing and related hook-ups for the machinery to become fully operational. Build machine guards, shields, chutes, trays, racks, tanks, and related attachments to increase safety on the production floor. Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment. What You Bring: High School Diploma or GED. 1+ years in an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic vocational program, or 1 year experience as a maintenance mechanic. Understand hydraulic and pneumatic systems and prints. Ability to use lathe and mill. Ability to read mechanical blueprints, weld, braze, and cut with a torch and/or plasma cutter. Requirements

  • 1+ years in an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic vocational program, or 1 year experience as a maintenance mechanic.
