About The Position

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to work at our food processing facility in Jacksonville, FL! Successful candidates must be willing to supply improvements, suggestions, and ideas to help continue the success of our facility. Ideal individuals must be safety and quality orientated along with demonstrate adaptability and willingness to work in a team orientated, fast paced work environment. This position requires individuals to perform general production duties in a food manufacturing environment following strict quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Two years as a mechanic on packaging machinery in an industrial plant or manufacturing facility
  • Good communication skills and the ability to operate well in a team environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate skill in the areas of welding, pipe fitting, gearbox/coupling and troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints or other forms of engineering drawings
  • The ability to proficiently operate all shop equipment including, but not limited to: lathe, mill, drill press, hydraulic press, and necessary hand tools.
  • Assist in monitoring and communicating specific spare parts needs.
  • Basic computer skills and math knowledge
  • The ability to stand on concrete floors for an extended period, climb narrow stairs or ladders repeatedly, work in confined spaces, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds during the shift.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to successfully complete required technical hands-on skills testing.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing operational equipment within the designated area.
  • Complete work orders associated with assigned equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance of all assigned equipment to assure maximum equipment effectiveness.
  • Responsibilities also include the overall ownership of the area assigned to ensure that a safe, quality product is being produced at above standard efficiency rates.
  • Accountable for all items in job certification check sheets and all DPS’s and procedures related to the job.
  • Active area and process owner to support and drive the plants Line Centric Vision, and a team member of the work cell to improve SIGMA value, daily efficiencies, and upgrades to standard work methods.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by management.
