Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical/Trade School certificate, preferably in facility maintenance or related areas; any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Experience with modern powered conveyor systems, fork truck equipment, and computer-based maintenance systems is required
  • Proficient in electro mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC controllers, welding (MIG and ARC) and interpreting blueprints
  • At least 10 years of proven experience working as a maintenance team member in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with building or using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Electric motor replacement experience (0.5 to 5 HP)
  • Gearbox, bearings, sprockets replacement experience
  • Knowledgeable in using and maintaining equipment with integrated sensor technology
  • Inductive Limit switches
  • Laser sensors
  • Scanners
  • Welding knowledge
  • Forklift driver license
  • Competency with Hand and Power tools
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and regulations
  • Experience dealing with internal and external customers, vendors, and contractors
  • Ability and flexibility to work alternate shifts as required
  • Ability to take initiative to correct issues without direction, offer solutions to problems and support a team effort
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have a strong sense of urgency to meet established deadlines

  • Technical training or vocational certification in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or related fields

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks related to the repair, preventive maintenance and improved performance of Distribution Center equipment and hardware
  • Perform necessary equipment adjustments, repairs, modifications or preventive maintenance on variety of conveyor systems and powered material handling equipment
  • Perform building maintenance repair to various systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and other facility related equipment
  • Observe and/or test the adjustments, repairs or modifications to all Distribution Center equipment to ensure its safe operation
  • Perform required tasks in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures, rules, and safety procedures
  • Maintain work orders, PMs and inventory tracking via spreadsheets, data bases or maintenance software
  • Repair dock doors and perform rack installations as needed
  • Change and/or maintain batteries on material handling equipment
  • Maintain spare parts inventory, order replacements, and prepare routine updates to maintenance records and reports
