As a Maintenance Mechanic at WK Kellogg Co, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our production equipment operates at peak performance. Your expertise will help maintain safety, reliability, and efficiency across our facility—because when our machines run well, we deliver quality products that make a difference.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Requires Technical certification/ associate degree in mechanical maintenance OR 4 years equivalent experience in field.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office, SAP or ERP Maintenance systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, troubleshooting techniques, and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Ability to fabricate simple parts (e.g. build a pan, turn a shaft / make a step shaft with a keyway, make a coupler, welding), including rigging
  • Food and or drug manufacturing experience (align to GMP) – can include experience from trade school
  • Ability to identify different lubrication types / specs

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
  • Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections, including checking stock, determining inventory levels, and receiving parts in associated systems (e.g. SAP, SmartFactory).
  • Collaborate with electricians and automation technicians on integrated systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, sanitation, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to housekeeping standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in training programs.
