Maintenance Mechanic – JLL What this job involves: As a Maintenance Mechanic at JLL, you will support operations and maintenance through general interior and exterior maintenance including hanging pictures, patched paint, changing lights, general office moves, and Meeting Room Setups/Breakdowns. This role requires you to perform light commercial renovations including painting, tape and bed, texture, door, and flooring installations while providing general moving services such as packing, loading, unloading, and Conference Room Setups/Breakdowns. You'll deliver and set up folding tables, chairs, signs, banners, and other equipment in support of conference, food services requirements, and special events that reflect JLL's commitment to operational excellence and client satisfaction. What your day-to-day will look like: General Interior Maintenance: Perform light commercial renovations including painting, tape and bed, texture, door, and flooring installations Install and repair kitchen/bathroom appliances and supplies with attention to quality and safety standards Hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems, and repair doors as needed Replace interior and exterior lighting while ensuring proper functionality and safety compliance Perform ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other installed systems Event and Conference Support: Provide general moving services including packing, loading, unloading, and Conference Room Setups/Breakdowns Deliver and set up folding tables, chairs, signs, banners, and other equipment for conferences and special events Support food services requirements and special events with timely and professional equipment setup Facilities and Equipment Operations: Perform preventive maintenance on assigned trucks and utility vehicles to ensure operational readiness Make minor concrete and asphalt repairs while maintaining property appearance and safety Operate street sweeper, forklift, boom lift, and battery-operated indoor man lift with proper certification Escort and supervise subcontractors performing work on campus while ensuring compliance with safety procedures Conduct ice/snow removal operations as needed for safe facility access Inspect Fitness Center equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety standards Quality Assurance and Safety: Provide good customer service while performing assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts Report on as-found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations Assist operations team in maintenance and repair of building and equipment as directed Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary while complying with all safety procedures Maintain good housekeeping and safety of work areas while recognizing danger and safety hazards Propose methods to eliminate safety hazards while maintaining compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws

Requirements

  • Experience in general maintenance and repair including painting, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to operate various equipment including forklifts, boom lifts, and man lifts with proper certification
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures for vehicles and equipment
  • Understanding of safety procedures and hazard recognition in maintenance environments
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, climbing, and operating heavy equipment
  • Strong customer service skills with professional communication abilities
  • Knowledge of building codes, ordinances, and safety regulations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial facility maintenance and light renovation work
  • Background in conference and event setup with equipment handling experience
  • Understanding of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in commercial environments
  • Experience with subcontractor supervision and coordination
  • Knowledge of fitness center equipment maintenance and inspection procedures
