The Shift Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing vegetable processing, water supply, and waste‑disposal equipment to support continuous plant operations. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and broad experience across multiple mechanical disciplines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• 10 or more years of related mechanical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong working knowledge of:
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Power transmission systems
• Welding (gas, arc, inert gas)
• Pipe and tube fitting
• Bearing installation, replacement, and lubrication
• Vibratory equipment and pumps
• Precision alignment and measurement
• Equipment installation and troubleshooting
• Basic equipment‑related electronics
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install food‑processing machinery and related systems
• Perform maintenance work with minimal supervision
• Assist the shift electrician as needed
• Support and comply with all Plant Safety and Food Safety Programs
• Maintain equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations
