Find out how you can Make It Possible: Maintenance Mechanic - Full Time - Day Shift In this role, the maintenance mechanic performs a variety of repairs and maintenance within the institution primarily with HVAC systems. Ability to recognize essential mechanical components within HVAC systems and understand their function. Accurately troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues such as motors, pumps, components of plumbing for steam & hot/chilled water. Knowledge of AHU and attached systems to perform preventive maintenance work orders. (coil cleaning, filters, belts, grease, MER tidiness) Ability to use iPad to receive and complete daily work orders Ability to read mechanical drawings, schedules, schematics, wiring diagrams This is a full time day shift position including other shifts/weekends/holidays as needed, located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • FDNY Certificate of Fitness for Fireguard F-60 within probation
  • FDNY Certificate of Fitness for Use of Flammable Gases G-60 within probation
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of commercial sprinkler systems.
  • Knowledge of computerize diagnostics systems.
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to plan and perform job duties

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree
  • Minimum of two (2) years hand-on experience with components of a mechanical environmental systems, some electrical experience.
  • Vocational or technical school training.
