Job Summary: The Maintenance Reliability Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems in the Plant.

Requirements

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Required to attend all pre-employment training and all mandatory trainings thereafter. Must be adequately trained before running machinery.
  • Boiler License (within 6 months of employment)

Responsibilities

  • Keeps production machinery operating at peak levels. Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment
  • Repairs defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
  • Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs/replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment
  • Understands, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooded structures
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices
  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems and determines how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
  • Works with high pressure steam and high voltage electricity
  • Plans and lays out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams
  • Paints and repairs roofs, windows, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures
  • Aligns and balances new equipment after installation
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Maintains and repairs specialized equipment and machinery found in the food manufacturing plant
  • Handles and uses chemicals/lubricant safely and effectively
  • Works safely using PPE as required and promotes safe working conditions
  • Follows LOTO confined space and all other safety measures
  • Makes sure reliability initiatives is more important than “break fix”
  • Helps Maintain Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Overtime may by required
  • Other duties as assigned
