Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Basic Machine, Electric and Welding Certificates
  • 1 year of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of duties involved in the maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment such as replacing motors or brushes, overhauling relays, circuit breakers and electric power tools, greasing and oiling motors, and replacing defective tubes and modules on electronic controls and equipment, lights and fuses.
  • Bends and installs conduit, pulls and terminates wires, replaces motors and motor starters.
  • Installs, maintains, repairs or rebuilds a variety of machines.
  • Follows all departmental procedures to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Diagnoses trouble, disassembles, and determines extent of repairs necessary.
  • Repairs, refits or replaces worn or defective parts.
  • Must be available for off shift work when emergency repairs or snow removal are necessary.
  • Makes ordinary replacement parts, selects materials, plans and performs difficult machining operations on replacement parts, skilled fittings of bearings, spindles, etc.
  • Performs a wide variety of routine to complex plant maintenance operations, including building repairs, electrical work and plumbing.
  • Monitor building and production equipment, developing, and carrying out preventative maintenance plans as necessary.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
