About The Position

Responsible for a safe and comfortable environment in accordance with established policies and procedures. Includes general conditions, operation of the physical plant and support equipment when the cogeneration plant is down, electrical distribution system, pneumatic air systems, medical gas systems, HVAC equipment, boiler and steam systems, plumbing, and other patient support equipment. Responsible for preventive and repair maintenance on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment. Provides training and inservices for the department. Acts as a team member in the development and implementation of new programs for the department. Responsible for utilizing appropriate work practices commensurate with the environment of work to include working with neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, mature adults, older adults and psychiatric care patients. Travel between various Palomar Health may be required. Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma and/or combination of education and experience
  • Minimum Experience: 3 - 5 years general facilities maintenance
  • Required License: Valid Driver's License
