About The Position

As a member of the Freightliner Custom Chassis team, you are responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues on products using proper service procedures and technics. The candidate for this position will have a passion for process improvements, a keen eye to detail, and love numbers. Associate of Science Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology/Mechatronics or related discipline preferred with three years experience in all facets of heavy industrial maintenance/electrical functions or 5+ years experience in an electrical/mechanical position in an industrial environment with background in PLC troubleshooting/ladder logic, electrical/mechanical schematic interpretation, and Windows based systems. State license or professional certification a plus. Responsibilities

  • Must have the ability to safely/effectively work with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, compressed air systems, various rotating electrical and mechanical drive systems, crane systems, air tools, electrical distribution and potentially hazardous environments utilizing knowledge, experience, reference material and manufacturer’s representatives.
  • Must be able to bend and install all types and sizes of conduit, able to size wire, starter, conduit for any job being installed.
  • Must have an excellent ability to read and understand any electrical schematic.
  • Must be able to install, service, and repair all control circuits.
  • Service electrical and electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuits, printed circuit boards, motor controls, inverters, transformers, logic relays, etc., using proper LOTO procedures
  • Perform preventive maintenance including inspection, adjustment, repair, lubrication, and cleaning.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in an organized, timely fashion to minimize loss of production.
  • Performs mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, welding and other plant maintenance skills.
  • Works from blueprints, drawings or other specifications to build, fabricate, and/or install fixtures and other equipment.
  • Sets up/repairs mechanical equipment such as hoists, cranes, pumps, valves, etc.
  • Performs electrical tasks, such as installation of motors, switches, solenoid valves, outlets, etc.
  • Performs complete electrical/mechanical installations.
  • Performs electrical and mechanical set up and calibration of equipment using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gauges, etc.
  • Utilizes programmable logic controllers to troubleshoot equipment problems and modify equipment functions.
  • Prepares accurate records for preventative maintenance and spare part inventory.
  • Work will sometimes require performing at heights.
  • Strenuous manual labor will be required as well as heavy lifting at times.
  • Works responsibly and efficiently without close supervision.
  • Communicates material and tooling needs, as well as, information pertinent to the safe and effective operation of equipment and facility.
  • Ability to work extensive overtime as required.
