About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic performs maintenance, preventative maintenance, changeovers, adjustments, troubleshooting, minor and major repair of production and packaging equipment and assures electrical and mechanical systems function adequately to minimize down time. The technician must adhere to all SOPs, cGMPs, and plant quality, safety, and documentation systems requirements and other related duties essential to the operation or special assignments as required. Hourly Range: $30.00-$35.00/hour Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Requirements

  • Must have a high school education and be able to read, write and perform mathematics at a level to be able to complete technical work.
  • Must have four years of experience in a highly technical environment.
  • Must have working knowledge of power transfer technology including mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Must have good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing, packaging, and facility systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues using diagnostic tools and site procedures.
  • Identify root causes of recurring failures and recommend improvements or parts replacements to enhance reliability.
  • Collaborate with peers, supervisors, and engineering personnel to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders assigned through the site’s Computerized Maintenance System.
  • Accurately document all work performed, parts used, and observations in accordance with cGMP and company procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement of PM content, frequency, and quality based on observed performance trends.
  • Follow all site policies, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines (cGMP, OSHA, DEA, and FDA requirements).
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibrations, and inspections.
  • Support investigations, deviations, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs) by providing technical input and documentation as needed.
  • Utilizes the site’s shift note system to record production support activities, equipment status, and follow-up actions for cross-shift alignment.
  • Responsible for insuring the validated state of all equipment, systems and facilities and compliance with all applicable cGMP, OSHA, DEC, EPA and local government regulations.
  • Responsible for developing relationships with key vendors for technical support and for assistance in hardware applications.
