GENERAL FUNCTION: Inspects, repairs and maintains functional automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery such as forklifts, front-end loaders and cherry pickers along with that of electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. When repairs to electronic components are done following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities: Maintains service records on vehicles and equipment. Inspects, repairs and maintains functional parts of automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery, such as forklifts, front-end loaders and cherry pickers. Inspects defective equipment and diagnoses malfunctions using analyzers, pressure gauges, chassis charts and factory manuals. Disassembles and overhauls engines, pumps, pump power units, generators, transmissions, clutches and rear ends, using hand tools and hoist. Adjusts brakes, aligns wheels, tightens bolts and screws, and reassembles equipment. Operate equipment to test its functioning. Changes oil, checks batteries, repair tires and tubes and lubricates equipment and machinery. Performs “tag out” or “lock out” procedures on equipment in the yard.
