About The Position

The Maintenance Material Handler is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems, as well as handling, staging, and tracking raw materials and finished goods. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operations while supporting inventory accuracy and production flow. The position is part of the Engineering & Facilities team and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed written and oral instructions and resolve routine technical issues.
  • Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to perform varied tasks to meet operational goals.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and inventory systems.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of industrial maintenance, material handling, or related experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certification required; respirator certification preferred or obtained.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on facility systems and production equipment, including carpentry, pipefitting, plumbing, electrical (including high voltage), mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions or performance issues to implement timely and effective repairs.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks using a structured work order system.
  • Assist and/or oversee outside contractors during night shift operations to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Stage and palletize raw materials for production and maintain organization of finished goods inventory.
  • Receive raw materials and containers, enter purchase orders, and accurately document inventory movements in Oracle or other inventory systems.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, drum dollies, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Identify and remove out-of-date materials for proper disposal and perform daily cycle counts to support inventory accuracy.
  • Recommend improvements to safety practices, work methods, equipment performance, and operational procedures.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Hot Work Permits, Confined Space Entry, SDS, HMIS, and PPE requirements.
  • Work scheduled hours, overtime, and travel as required to support operational and maintenance needs.
  • Attend manufacturer-led training sessions and maintain technical proficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
