About The Position

This position is responsible for the assessment, development, and implementation of electrical/mechanical technical training curriculums for the improvement of skill sets in the Maintenance Department.

Requirements

  • This position requires experience in the repair of complex CNC Machining, Precision Grinding and Final Assembly equipment.
  • Must be highly proficient in all electrical and mechanical aspects of Richland production equipment.
  • Must possess strong knowledge of AC/DC electricity, linear and servo motors, variable frequency drives, programming PLC, CNC, and PC controllers, and developing ladder logic drawings.
  • Must possess solid knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, values, pumps, cylinders, hoses, belts, pulleys, bearings, drives, brake systems, ball and screw systems, and vertical/horizontal spindle replacements.
  • This person will perform in a manufacturing environment and should have the ability to communicate and work effectively with people of differing maintenance backgrounds.
  • This position may require infrequent travel both domestic and internationally as needed.
  • The candidate should have an Industrial Technology degree or a minimum of ten years’ experience in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls.
  • Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate equipment and install electrical and mechanical components of all sizes.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 5-10% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Develop schedules to continually assess the skill level of each Maintenance Mechanic as it relates to mechanical, electrical and metric achievements across all shifts. From assessments, understand the performance gaps and technical improvement requirements.
  • Develop and maintain databases reflecting Mechanic’s pay structure and capabilities. Develop training materials and programs for electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic aptitudes. Create training schedules and provide resources (internal and external) to fulfill gap requirements.
  • Develop troubleshooting guides on Turning and Grind/Assembly equipment. Guides should separate mechanical and electrical faults and provide a systematic planned approach to repairing equipment.
  • Standardize assessments, training materials, resources, and hands on training for all Mechanics.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision and performance of the TPM Mechanic as it relates to equipment improvements, engineering projects, equipment rebuilds, and motor/pump/cylinder/spindle rebuilds and replenishment inventory.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of a Proactive Maintenance Team (PRMT) that performs medium to complex proactive maintenance activities on Turning and Grind/Assembly lines. This group is different from the general PM Oilers that perform basic preventative maintenance actions.
  • Assist the Maintenance Mechanics in solving complex machine breakdowns when required and document repair procedures to capture lessons learned training materials.
  • Assist in the skill assessment and technical training of Set-Up, Technicians and Group Leaders reporting to Production. Work with Production Trainer in developing training manuals and documents.
  • Create work instructions and preventative maintenance procedures for critical equipment as required.
  • Assist in solving manufacturing issues as required.
