About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is a valued member of the EDCOAT Maintenance team. This full-time, exempt position is based in New Carlisle, IN and reports to the Director of Operations. This is a position with normal working hours of Monday to Friday between 7:00AM - 4:30PM. This individual is responsible for the profitable operation of the facility. The position’s primary function is maintaining and repairing equipment, providing engineering support for a coil coating, slitting, and warehousing facility. This position’s day to day responsibilities is to plan, coordinate, and supervise plant maintenance personnel in a 24/7 operation including the operation of roll grinders, WWT and other environmental compliance activities. The Plant Manager will be accountable for complying with all applicable company standards and government regulations. Success will be defined by the employee’s ability to ensure prompt responses to breakdowns, repairs, preventative maintenance work, and initiate continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; additional certifications or advanced degrees may be preferred.
  • Proven experience in industrial maintenance or facility management, with a focus on project management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, systems, electrical troubleshooting, and processes, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, as well as MS Office suite.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including coaching, mentoring, and motivating teams to achieve goals and objectives is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in industrial environments, with a commitment to promoting a safe work culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or maintenance management.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
  • Previous experience working in industrial sectors such as manufacturing, petrochemicals, utilities, or heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop comprehensive maintenance plans for industrial facilities, including scheduling regular maintenance activities and coordinating shutdowns or major repairs.
  • Create project timelines and milestones, ensuring adherence to deadlines and efficient resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with other departments to minimize downtime and disruptions to operations.
  • Team Management:
  • Coordinate and partner with the maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and providing guidance to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Directing and supervising Maintenance Technicians in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment and the operation of wastewater and roll grinding.
  • Directing Maintenance Technicians in the dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Coordinates with Management and Production Supervisors when responding to requests while providing guidance to ensure quality service standards are being met.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment to maximize team performance and morale.
  • Resource Allocation and Budget Management:
  • Manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements within budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor project expenses and expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Coordinate procurement of necessary supplies and equipment, negotiating contracts with vendors when necessary.
  • Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety awareness among team members.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any hazards or non-compliance issues promptly.
  • Stay informed about relevant industry regulations and standards, implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and milestones.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, external contractors, and management to ensure alignment of objectives and expectations.
  • Facilitate meetings, presentations, and reports to convey project status and address any concerns or issues as they arise.
