Maintenance Manager Role Overview You will lead a team of supervisors and mechanics, ensuring safety and quality in all you do, while driving performance and team development. You will be responsible for ensuring uptime, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness across all shifts. This role involves direct problem-solving on the plant floor, enabling process improvements, setting the standard in lean manufacturing practices, and leadership of the maintenance department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 5 plus years in operations maintenance, with at least 2 years of proven successful management experience leading a 24-hour operation.
  • Strong mentorship abilities and leadership traits.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team, ensuring individual and collective goals are met while developing team capabilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, efficiency, and process optimization.
  • Deliver strong change leadership while focusing on both immediate and long-term performance goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to solve operational challenges and work closely with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Be a visible presence on the plant floor, supporting your team and helping them resolve issues in real-time.
  • Lead with a safety and quality mindset.
  • Ensure maintenance programs are thorough and adequate.
  • Manage vendors and outside contractors, including parts ordering and stock room inventory processes.
  • Address any machinery downtime or potential issues and conduct a root cause analysis.
  • Responsible for Food Safety, Food Defense, and all Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety measures.
  • Train and develop the maintenance team.
  • Manage department staffing to meet business needs.
  • Oversee budget and manage expenses to meet targets.
  • Spearhead projects within the facility from start to finish, including scope definition, bidding, acceptance, and project sign-off.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments and peers to improve daily efficiencies.
