Compensation The compensation target for this role is: $127,500 - $150,000 Job Summary The Maintenance Manager will have strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of manufacturing equipment and will be responsible for all facets of the Maintenance Team. Will lead and manage a team of mechanics to maintain all equipment in and around the facility. Will implement a TPM program to support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and increase equipment reliability. Will Develop the preventive/predictive maintenance program in conjunction with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance staff. Will provide leadership, coaching, and technical direction to the Maintenance staff. Job Description

Requirements

  • Associate degree from two-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience in the skilled trades
  • 8+ years of leading/managing a Maintenance Team in a manufacturing environment.
  • 10+ years of equipment repair experience.
  • Project management/capital improvements and budget management experience.
  • Maintenance management software and the development of a preventive and predictive maintenance program.
  • Development of TPM program in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science related discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient with Lean Manufacturing practices including 5-S, Visual Controls, Standard Work, work center metrics, and continuous improvement processes and able to instruct others in these practices.
  • Effective leadership and coaching skills, with a proven ability in coaching and developing others.
  • Ability to support MRO staff with sourcing and the purchase of equipment parts, materials, and supplies.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems as well as Programmable Logic Controls (PLC).
  • Management of a CMMS program.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create and submit budgetary recommendations/requests regarding capital expenditures and maintenance repairs.
  • Ability to prepare management update reports related to schedule performance, job costs tracking, and on time performance.
  • Ability to coach and support staff after-hours.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving objectives .
  • Understands interdepartmental impact of individual decisions and actions.
  • Demonstrates determination and persistence while treating others with respect.
  • High degree of independence, judgment, attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Maintain an effective lockout-tagout program to ensure employee safety during equipment maintenance and shutdowns.
  • Build and maintain a strong partnership culture between the Maintenance, Operation, and Engineering teams.
  • Monitor equipment performance and establish effective Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to prioritize projects.
  • Maintain high shop safety standards as per Purple policies & procedures.
  • Effectively and consistently communicate companywide goals regarding safety, sustainability, efficiency, and performance to the Maintenance Team.
  • Manage personnel performance, including employee reviews, recommendations for coaching/performance improvement, disciplinary action, time and attendance, shift scheduling and overtime assignments.
  • Remain current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.
  • Ensure expertise is available to maintain production equipment 24-7.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to improve employee safety, production quality and equipment reliability.
  • Work with Engineering to test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
