About The Position

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and visual appeal of the facility and grounds. This role includes overseeing the upkeep of buildings, vehicles, and landscaping, managing preventative and corrective maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Maintenance Manager plays a key role in supporting a secure, comfortable environment for clients and employees. Sunrise is a mental health Residential Treatment Center where adolescent girls and boys ages 12–17 can heal, grow, and thrive.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of yard and grounds equipment, including mowers, edgers, and trimmers.
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance practices and basic repair techniques.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to independently identify and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple maintenance requests efficiently.
  • Ability to safely handle, store, and apply cleaning agents and lawn chemicals.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with maintenance request systems or software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or general facilities maintenance.
  • Familiarity with pool maintenance, health codes, and water‑quality standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise only 1 maintenance technician by delegating tasks and ensuring high‑quality work.
  • Oversee facility, grounds, and pool maintenance, including landscaping, irrigation, repairs, and safety compliance.
  • Complete carpentry, painting, drywall, basic electrical work, and small equipment/appliance repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify issues early and ensure timely, cost‑effective repairs.
  • Manage preventative maintenance and repairs for all campus vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure OSHA, state, and federal compliance, including documentation, safety inspections, and snow/ice removal.
  • Meet departmental goals while working independently and supporting budget‑conscious maintenance decisions.
  • Maintain organized records, schedules, and maintenance logs to support smooth daily operations.
