About The Position

Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall direction, effectiveness, and coordination of the Maintenance Department. This role ensures that all maintenance activities are properly planned, budgeted, and executed safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner to support reliable plant operations. Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Package are available to qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of hands‑on experience as a Maintenance Manager within a manufacturing, power plant, or chemical industry environment.
  • A Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree is preferred.
  • Ability to make risk‑based decisions and manage maintenance budget activities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong focus on data‑driven reporting using metrics.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and time‑management skills, with strong ownership of repair and preventive maintenance initiatives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and maintenance management systems (e.g., MMM, ALM, Experion).
  • Experience in maintaining gas and/or steam turbine generators, rotating equipment, electronic controls, and monitoring systems.
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing power boilers and piping systems.
  • Ability to write contractor work scopes, bid packages, maintenance procedures, work requests, and purchase requisitions.
  • Ability to read P&IDs, piping, electrical elementary diagrams, and equipment interconnection drawings.
  • Strong aptitude for identifying root causes and making sound business decisions.
  • Comfortable working in a competitive, performance‑driven environment.
  • Basic understanding of O&M and capital budgeting.
  • Working knowledge of safety, environmental, and labor regulations.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills with demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, extended hours, and be on call as needed; able to work prolonged periods during outages to support facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all maintenance activities and repairs are performed safely and in full compliance with company safety policies, environmental standards, and all applicable federal, state, NERC, and local regulations.
  • Provide daily direction to maintenance mechanics, adjusting work plans in response to operational priorities and emergent issues.
  • Develop a strong understanding of mechanical maintenance tasks and routinely visit job sites to support—and when necessary, assist with—maintenance activities.
  • Select, train, and manage a skilled, cross‑trained, and engaged maintenance workforce.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities to maximize plant availability, including long‑term planning, scheduling, and strategic oversight for maintenance on boilers, turbines, and associated equipment.
  • Support and develop proficiency in outage management, including coordinating maintenance during scheduled and unscheduled outages and ensuring adherence to established timelines.
  • Direct staff in outage planning by reviewing work requests, identifying material and equipment needs, determining workforce requirements, and defining necessary procedures.
  • Manage the plant’s work order system, backlog, and preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Oversee warehouse functions and manage spare parts inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Coordinate the maintenance department's operating and capital budget expenditures.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives through change management and best‑practice implementation, fostering an environment that empowers employees to contribute to operational improvements.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Demonstrate effective handling of human resource matters, general administrative tasks, and policy implementation.
