Position Summary: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities for a high-speed plastics container manufacturing facility. This position ensures the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of plant equipment, machinery, and infrastructure by leading a skilled maintenance team and implementing proactive, cost-effective maintenance programs. The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in reducing downtime, supporting production goals, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong working knowledge of injection/blow molding machinery, pneumatic systems, PLCs, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Proven experience managing maintenance budgets and capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, schedule, and supervise daily activities of the maintenance team including mechanical, electrical, and automation technicians.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex issues related to injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, robotics, and ancillary equipment.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering departments to ensure seamless operations and timely support.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, maintenance budget, and vendor relationships for maintenance-related services and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance, energy efficiency, and plant safety.
  • Train, develop, and evaluate maintenance personnel to ensure skill growth and performance excellence.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work orders, maintenance history, and KPIs.
  • Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
  • Ensure all compliance with regulatory affairs, FDA, OSHA, SQF mechanical integrity and process hazards analysis (PHA).
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
