Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in truck, light, or heavy equipment maintenance and repair (waste industry experience a plus).
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements.
  • Ability to plan, budget, and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Willingness to relocate for future growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and enforce our corporate safety program.
  • Lead and foster collaboration across the maintenance team.
  • Ensure mechanics and PM techs are properly trained and supported.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards.
  • Oversee inventory control and equipment maintenance.
  • Train mechanics in diagnostics and repair techniques.
  • Assign and schedule work for shop personnel.
  • Coordinate external repairs when needed.
  • Test vehicles to troubleshoot and verify repairs.
  • Manage parts purchasing and vendor pricing.
  • Assist with monthly financial projections and annual budgeting.
  • Keep departmental costs within budget.
  • Oversee Material Recovery Facility, Scrap Metal Yard, and Organics Facility
