Store Facilities & Energy Management - Maintenance Manager: To administer and execute company retail Facilities and Energy Management policy to the assigned retail sites in order to maintain and operate all assigned retail store locations in the most well maintained and efficient operational order possible. The Mid-Atlantic Division is looking for a Maintenance Manager - North Area. This person would administer and execute company retail Facilities and Energy Management policy to the assigned retail sites in order to maintain and operate all assigned retail store locations in the most well maintained and efficient operational order possible.

Requirements

  • Five plus years as a Facility or Engineering Manager I, or similar role.
  • Must help foster a mindset of continuous improvement in every process, person and product. Must consistently demonstrate enthusiasm for the job and be highly productive thereby leading others by example. Work products must consistently meet or exceed expectations, and be delivered on time, with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional public speaking skills. Must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the Company in a professional manner.
  • 80% travel may be required.
  • After-hours emergency calls will need to be responded to.
  • Some work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Some work is performed in exterior ambient conditions.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, PDA and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
  • Incumbent must be able to get access to all parts of the facility supervised including but not limited to; roof’s, basements, crawl spaces, etc.
  • Ladder climbing to mechanical rooms and roofs, stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching will be required in completion of job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and is accountable for assigned geographic areas retail facilities and energy management activities. Facilities and Energy Management activities include, but are not limited to: building and site interior and exterior maintenance (to include: the structural building, floor slabs, structural elements, floor tile, roofs, parking lots, landscaping, etc.), the building mechanical and electrical systems and components (to include: refrigeration systems and components, EPA refrigerant compliance, electrical, lighting, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration controls, and building Energy Management Systems) equipment maintenance (to include: food preparation equipment, material handling equipment, and related supermarket equipment necessary to operate a full-service retail supermarket.).
  • Aids Regional Director and develops commitment and executes the assigned annual Facilities Capital Budget of $8 to $20 million and annual expense budget of $8 to $25 million.
  • Accountable for assigned retail sites budgeting, budget tracking, national/regional accounts for maintenance, supervision of all maintenance activities at retail stores, service contracts, vendor selection, performance and service levels following the prescribed Authorized Vendor and Enterprise Asset Management programs.
  • Develop and execute energy programs to achieve improved system performance and reduced energy consumption and cost.
  • Provide Project Management activities on an individual project basis (including significant equipment upgrades, equipment and building component installation and removal, décor, mechanical and electrical systems, etc.).
  • Develop and execute capital investment projects for the Facilities and Energy Management team as well as coordination with Albertsons/Safeway departments.
  • Planning and execution of national and regional merchandising rollout programs.
  • Complete Facility Review process for stores scheduled for construction, remodel or expansion.
  • Responsible for assisting the Project Development department in their efforts to build or remodel stores within the assigned region.
  • Responsible for the proper execution of all programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations as well as compliance with Albertsons/Safeway Refrigerant Management Program policies and procedures.
